Shipwrecks of Truk Lagoon -- WWII Shipwreck videos.
In 1942 US forces attacked Truk Lagoon, a natural port in the South Pacific used by the Japaneese navy. The battle claimed over 3,000 lives, 200 airplanes and 40 ships. Now more than 60 years later the wrecks of 'Operation Hailstone' have become one of the worlds premier dive locations.
The first video in the gallery is a news reel from the 30th March 1942. The actual battle happened 6 weeks before. The report could be said to be 'one-sided' ! Worth watching for perspective if you have time.
